1. General Review Policy
Journal of Business and Management Studies (JBMS) implements a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the editorial team to ensure their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, academic quality, compliance with author guidelines, and adherence to publication ethics.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be assigned to reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area of the article.
2. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Evaluate the scientific quality of manuscripts objectively and professionally.
- Provide constructive comments, corrections, and recommendations to authors.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the reviewed manuscripts.
- Identify any indication of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other publication ethics violations.
- Complete the review process within the specified timeframe.
- Avoid conflicts of interest during the review process.
3. Manuscript Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts based on the following aspects:
a. Relevance of the Topic
- Suitability of the manuscript with the focus and scope of JBMS.
- Relevance of the topic to the development of business and management studies.
b. Originality and Contribution
- Novelty of the research or scholarly ideas presented.
- Contribution to the advancement of knowledge and business/management practices.
c. Methodological Quality
- Clarity of the research design and methods used.
- Appropriateness of data analysis techniques.
- Validity and reliability of the research.
d. Quality of Discussion
- Depth of analysis and interpretation of research findings.
- Connection between findings, theories, and previous studies.
- Clarity and strength of scholarly arguments.
e. Structure and Language
- Organization and systematic structure of the manuscript.
- Clarity in presenting tables, figures, and references.
- Use of proper academic language and writing style.
4. Review Recommendations
Reviewers may provide one of the following recommendations:
- Accepted : The manuscript is accepted without revision.
- Accepted with Minor Revisions : The manuscript is accepted with minor revisions.
- Accepted with Major Revisions : The manuscript requires substantial revisions before reconsideration.
- Rejected : The manuscript is rejected due to insufficient scientific quality or incompatibility with the journal’s focus and scope.
5. Review Ethics
Reviewers are expected to uphold academic integrity and publication ethics by:
- Maintaining objectivity and professionalism in the evaluation process.
- Not using information contained in the manuscript for personal benefit.
- Not discussing the manuscript with others without permission from the editor.
- Providing comments that are respectful, clear, and constructive.
6. Review Timeline
Reviewers are expected to complete the review process within the timeframe determined by the editorial team to ensure timely publication of the journal.
